How this Jewelry Line Brings More than Just Awareness to the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Jewelry entrepreneur Kendra Scott lost her dear friend Holley Rothell Kitchen to metastatic breast cancer in January 2016. Determined to honor her legacy, Scott made a commitment to use her jewelry line as a force for good to raise funds for critical research, support the families of those affected by breast cancer, and to be a source of encouragement for those currently in treatment.

The numbers … To date, Kendra Scott has donated more than $847,774 dollars to BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation) which funded more than 20,000 hours of research.

What to watch … This video of researcher Dr. Fuqua shows the impact those research dollars.

The give back …

  • To research: 20% of the proceeds from the ‘Shop for Good’ BCA collection go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation all year long (not just in October).

  • To patients: For every purchase made in October from the BCA collection, Kendra Scott will distribute a rose quartz jewelry piece and handwritten note to a woman touched by cancer.

  • To families: 50% of the proceeds from every purchase of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Charm Necklace Set supports Inheritance of Hope – an organization that helps children and the families facing the loss of a parent. Their signature event is a Legacy Retreat, an all-expenses-paid experience for families to create memories together and receive the tools to navigate the challenges of a terminal illness.

  • For early detection: Kendra Scott helps fund the Big Pink Bus from Lone Star Circle of Care which provides mobile breast cancer screenings for those without insurance and for those who lack access to regular mammograms.

What to buy… The Lillia Butterfly pendant necklace is stunning in blush dichroic glass, and we love the simplicity of the Emilie multi-strand necklace (which comes in gold, silver and rose gold). All the pieces in this collection make great gifts -- not just for anyone who has been impacted by breast cancer, but also anyone who loves wearing timeless jewelry while supporting a good cause.

💡 Winni Tip … You’ll find that if you scroll down on the page, the Shop for Good Collection also supports many other causes from frontline workers to the families of disabled service members, pediatric hospitals and more.
