The future of clean
As a new mom, entrepreneur Sarah Paiji Yoo was horrified to discover that all the plastic she was throwing away in her household was contributing to the hundreds of microplastics found in the water and food she was feeding her baby. She wanted to find an eco-friendlier way to package her everyday cleaning products, and Blueland was born. 🌎

Their entourage... Do you know where chocolate comes from?
In 2003, Dutch journalist Teun van de Keuken (aka Tony) was working on a segment for a consumer report TV show and was shocked to discover that modern slavery still existed in the cocoa industry. He started calling the major chocolate companies to ask the tough questions, and he got no answers. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands, and Teun and his crew started making their own Fairtrade, traceable milk chocolate bars and Tony’s Chocolonely began. 🍫
Company mission... To end modern slavery and illegal child labor in the chocolate industry.
What's with the name? "Tony" is an English way of saying Teun, and "lonely" comes from the fact that Tony felt lonely in his fight against the big cocoa industry.
More than 60% of the world's cocoa is produced in West Africa's Ghana and Ivory Coast
1.56 million = children in these countries that work under illegal conditions because their parents are unable to earn enough

What Tony's Chocolonely is doing about it... Tony's works with farmers directly and pays more for their cocoa beans, allowing farmers to earn a decent income to support themselves and their families. Take one look at the website, and you'll also see that Tony's is not just selling chocolate bars. They are committed to raising awareness, leading by example, and inspiring other chocolate companies to join in.
Did you know? Almost no other major chocolate brand sold in supermarkets knows exactly how or where its cocoa beans are grown.
What to watch... Season 2 of Rotten on Netflix. The episode titled Bitter Chocolate takes you through the story of the cocoa industry and how Tony's Chocolonely is making an impact.

Water with a heart
Inspired by their daughters, Massachusetts entrepreneurs (and neighbors) Kimberly Reilly and Megan Hayes set out to create a company that would improve the lives of women and girls all over the world. After doing research, they were shocked to find that the biggest challenge women and girls were facing globally was access to clean water. They decided to launch a new brand of drinking water, Everybody Water, to not only help bring clean water into homes that needed it most, but also to help our planet by offering an alternative to plastic bottles and using cartons.
Company mission… To support clean water projects so that women and girls don’t have to spend hours and hours carrying water back to their homes and can instead attend school, earn incomes, and dream big.

The give back… They donate 3% of their annual gross revenues to Water1st International to support clean water and sanitation infrastructure projects that bring running water, sinks, showers, and toilets directly into homes. Why a carton? The BPA-free, recyclable Tetra Pak cartons come from forests where trees are replenished. The paper in the paperboard is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council -- a non-profit that ensures the source is a responsibly managed forest. The plant-based caps are made from sugarcane (which is a renewable resource), helping reduce the overall carbon footprint of the carton. They consider the entire product lifecycle from sourcing and manufacturing to transportation because it's not enough to just be "recyclable."
How is the water? We've tried other carton waters, and this is the best we've tasted by far! It's filtered by reverse osmosis and comes from a community system that flows directly into their filling facility (because it’s more sustainable than hauling water around in trucks from place to place).
