With the dawning of a new year comes the launching of new cruise ships, and the line-up for 2024 brings a variety of floating getaways to discover. While some cruise lines are embracing the mantra ‘bigger is better,’ others are prioritizing a more intimate and luxurious experience. Climb aboard and explore the newest and most cutting-edge ships setting sail this year.

AmaWaterways - AmaMagdalena  AmaMagdalena, the newest AmaWaterways vessel, will be exploring Colombia by way of the Magdalena River. Sailing from Cartegena or Barranquilla, this 60-passenger ship offers Latin-inspired cuisine along with other Western favorite fares, a heated sun deck pool, and a fitness center onboard. Explore all Colombia has to offer on the 223-foot long AmaMagdalena, and immerse yourself in the rich history and cultural traditions of South America. Check out the AmaMagdalena


Carnival Cruise Line - Carnival Firenze 

Launching this spring, the newest Carnival ship – Carnival Firenze – has an Italian flair and will sail from its homeport in Long Beach, California with Mexican Riviera itineraries on the horizon. Once onboard, check out the Medici Restaurant with elegant Italian cuisine. If you are looking for a more casual vibe, then hit up La Strada Grill for Italian street food. Of course, with Carnival being known for its ‘fun ships’, there is a Waterworks and SportSquare area that serves up tons of splishy, splashy and sporty shenanigans to encourage hours of active play. Hop on Carnival Firenze Cunard - Queen Anne Put your hands together for a blend of classic Cunard elegance and a touch of contemporary flair on the Queen Anne. Slated to sail to the Canary Islands, Western Europe, and the Mediterranean, the Queen Anne’s itineraries invoke history, culture, and romance. Alternative dining restaurants include – Tramonto with its delightful Mediterranean cuisine, Aji Wa specializing in Japanese-inspired delights, and Sir Samuel’s - an homage to Cunard’s founder with mouthwatering dishes from land and sea. Youthful delight and glorious adventures are sure to be found on Disney’s newest ship – Disney Treasure. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line - Icon of the Seas Known for the largest ships in the world, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has done it again with the Icon of the Seas. This mega-ship launched in January and boasts the largest waterpark at sea, a ‘neighborhood’ designed for family time, and the AquaDome - an immersive space that transforms from a waterfall to a dining experience like no other. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line - Utopia of the Seas  If debuting one ship wasn’t enough, meet Utopia of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s second ship to launch in 2024.
