Las Vegas Recommendations from YOU!

HOTELS

The Mirage

“Even the regular guest rooms are bigger than usual, but the 2-bedroom suite is huge! The public areas don’t feel dated at all. Plus, the Mirage has a variety of food and drink options. The coffee shop is perfect for breakfast! And the Center Bar is perfect for a nightcap. Activities and shows, too! Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden is very cool. The resort has a great location on the Strip, too!”

Favorite thing about The Mirage: “The guest rooms are generously sized.”

The Cosmopolitan

“The Cosmopolitan was a great place for a group trip. We spent our day at the pool, where the drinks were amazing and always flowing. The hidden pizza spot was great for a quick bite after a few drinks. And you have to try the signature drink at the Chandelier bar at least once! There are so many restaurant options, including my favorite - Jaleo. Finally, our room was gorgeous and being able to sit on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee was a great start to the day!”

Favorite thing about the Cosmopolitan: “Find the hidden, no-name pizza restaurant for a greasy slice!”

RESTAURANTS

Tea Lounge at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel

“If one is looking for something to do in Vegas that is elegant, quiet, and smoke-free (yes, everything that Vegas is not) than the high tea at the Waldorf Astoria is the place to be. You will be in a hotel that is both smoke-free and gambling-free. You will also have a floor to ceiling view of the strip. The high tea itself is delicious and includes gourmet sandwiches, scones, and desserts.”
Favorite item on the menu at the Tea Lounge:  “The high tea was amazing. Multiple gourmet sandwiches and treats were part of the afternoon tea service.”

Herbs and Rye

“Why try an expensive steakhouse on the strip when you can visit Herbs and Rye? Come for the daily happy hour in the evening or late night until close. Drinks may be regular price (they are fantastic), but all steaks and certain other entrees and appetizers are half price! You will leave satisfied, pleased, and ready to come back on your next visit -- with some money left over for other things!”

Maggiano’s Little Italy

“Love this restaurant after a day of shopping at The Fashion Show. It is located in the mall but gives you the feeling you are far away...with a great view of the Wynn or Venetian and the bright lights of Las Vegas just outside our window table.  Enjoyed a wonderful pinot noir... and mussels before trying the Veal Parm, which was exquisite.  The service was fantastic...two minutes after each course was served, the waiter stopped by to check in with us.  The perfect end to a hectic day!”

EXPERIENCES

Las Vegas - Michelle R High Roller

High Roller

“The High Roller is a chance to get a beautiful view of the strip while enjoying a drink. The strip can get crowded, so this experience gives you a more personal and private view. It is also an inexpensive family or group friendly activity. I highly recommend The High Roller and would experience it again.”

Favorite thing about the High Roller: “A chance to get a skyline view of Vegas while enjoying a drink.”

Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary

“Gilcrease Nature sanctuary is a sanctuary for all kinds of animals from exotic birds to farm animals to ostriches.  Some you can pet and feed.  There's a pond with all kinds of beautiful birds. The cuckatoos will talk to you.  They have giant tortoises.  They have many different events year round.  They sell homemade soap and beautiful peacock feathers. They are donation run so there is not set admission cost. Great for kids and adults alike.  You'll probably end up staying all day.”

Another tip for visiting Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary: “Only have a few drinks and no food on-site so make sure to bring water and some snacks. They have a small amphitheater and grassy picnic area for lunch.”

Meow Wolf

“I have been to Las Vegas many many times in fact one year I went there four times in one year. I've been to every single Cirque du Soleil show there is. I've [stayed at] almost all the hotels there are. I've tried almost every single buffet on the strip and downtown. And I wanted to go to Vegas and do something different that's why I went to meow wolf and it reinvented my whole experience of going to Vegas. In fact I'm going back in 2 weeks and bringing two more friends so they can see it.”

Botanical Cactus Garden/Ethel M. Chocolates

“Seeing a beautiful desert garden as part of a trip to Las Vegas is truly special.  The plants and design of the paths leads visitors to see unique things that are labeled and have descriptive histories of their significance and origins.  The chocolate shop and factory which is adjacent provides sweet treats.”
